July 30, 2010: July 30 -- A gas station in Milford, N.H., must pay $49,000 in environmental penalties for a spill that sent 1,500 gallons of diesel fuel into the nearby Souhegan River.

California city supports extended producer responsibility
July 30, 2010: July 30 -- Roseville, Calif., has become the 100th jurisdiction in California to adopt a resolution in support of extended producer responsibility, a government framework meant to shift the responsibility for certain end-of-live products that could contain hazardous material back onto the manufacturer.
